Setting Up For My Photoshoot

This is a time-lapse of me setting up the equipment for my photoshoot with my main model. I've used a white backdrop as it contrasts her dark hair and therefore makes her easier to cut out, and also makes her skin tone brighter, which is needed for an upbeat pop magazine. I've then used three soft boxes. After looking at other competitor pop magazines I noticed that the cover star is often heavily lit, and therefore when taking these photos I positioned the lights close to her face. However if I wanted to add a sense of mystery to her I could have lit her less and the backdrop a bit more in order to create a shadowed picture. Using soft boxes as my only source of light meant that the texture of her face was clear in the photos and the photos were high quality and looked professional.
